How does SEAT Subscribe work?
Simply choose the vehicle you want and the time frame you want it for. At the end of the time frame you just drop it back – or, you can choose to keep it for longer if it is not already booked.
What vehicles are available with SEAT Subscribe?
SEAT Subscribe offers a range of SEAT and CUPRA branded products. Typically, this will reflect the range of vehicles sold in New Zealand. However, circumstances may determine that some models are not available during some periods.
How do I pick the perfect vehicle for me?
SEAT & CUPRA have a range of vehicles for you to choose from – it just depends on what you are wanting to do. For full details on the range of vehicles and how they can enhance your lifestyle, visit seat.co.nz or cupra.co.nz.
How does insurance work?
Insurance is included with all SEAT Subscribe subscriptions. All approved drivers are covered by the SEAT Subscribe insurance policy. There are just two policy excesses split by driver’s age:
– $1,000 for drivers 25 and over
– $1,500 for drivers under 25 (restricted range of vehicles)
How long can I keep a vehicle?
Vehicles are available on SEAT Subscribe for a weekend, a week or a month. The weekend subscription is 72 hours, so you can take a “mid-week weekend” if you like.
If you want to keep the vehicle for longer than the original subscription period, just visit seatsubscribe.co.nz and try to book it for longer. If the vehicle you want is not available, please contact us and we will endeavour to work out a solution for you.
How new are the vehicles?
The vehicles on offer are generally the current model year. Whilst no guarantees of age can be made, you can rest assure that each vehicle is groomed before it goes out.
How do I join SEAT Subscribe?
It’s very simple – just follow the instructions to create an account at seatsubscribe.co.nz. You will need a valid credit or debit card and provide your driver’s license details.
Is SEAT Subscribe in my area?
Today, SEAT Subscribe is live from Newmarket, Auckland. If you’re outside of Auckland, you can still make use of SEAT Subscribe if you are flying in.
How do I collect my car?
All pickups will occur at the SEAT Store (48 Great South Road, Newmarket) – click here for opening hours. If you are within 20 KMs of the SEAT Store, a concierge drop-off service may be available for a fee $60 including GST. This service may also be able to be utilised for pick-up as well.
What are the legal bits I need to know?
SEAT Subscribe is the same as a rental car agreement, so there is nothing that ties you in to a long-term commitment. Given that it is a rental agreement, the maximum length of one agreement is six months – that doesn’t mean you need to hand the car back after six months, just visit the SEAT Store to complete a new agreement.
How well equipped are the vehicles?
The vehicles reflect the range of specification that SEAT & CUPRA offer – which is generally high. We cannot guarantee the availability of certain options.
Are pets allowed in the vehicle?
We do allow pets in the vehicles, but they must be transported in a crate on top of a blanket. It is better for the vehicle and safer for your pet.
Can I smoke in the vehicle?
For the comfort of all our subscribers we request that you do not smoke in our vehicles. Should the car smell of smoke upon return, a valet charge of up to $300 including GST will be charged.
Can I move between different vehicles?
Yes, at the end of each subscription period (weekend, week or month) users can choose to change vehicles.
Can I get a different car for a special occasion?
Yes, if you want a different car in the middle of a current subscription (for up to one week only), then this is available at a 50% discount off the normal price. This means you are in effect paying for two cars, one at half price. If it is at the end of the subscription, then the above regarding moving between different vehicles applies.
What happens if my vehicle needs repair?
Our goal is that you will never have to worry about maintenance or repair issues. If something unforeseen occurs, notify us and we will get you back on the road.
What happens if I get into an accident?
First, make sure that everyone is safe, get your vehicle to a safe place and exchange information with the other parties. Once the situation is stabilised, call us on 09 975 8949 and we will organise to get you into a replacement vehicle. If it is after hours, call SEAT Assist on 0800 961 961.
You will be asked to help complete a claims forms with one of our representatives. We do not guarantee to replace the vehicle if you are thought to be liable for the accident.
How much advance notice is required for a vehicle pickup?
The minimum notice period required is 24 hours, however, the best practice is to book at least a few days in advance.
Pricing & payment
What is the minimum commitment to SEAT Subscribe?
It can be as little as three days – our weekend rate. We don’t let vehicles go out for less time than this – likewise, the next level up is weekly (i.e. a five-day subscription is not possible).
When is payment due?
A valid credit or debit card is required during sign up. Your first payment will be charged when you confirm the booking of your vehicle. Any subsequent payments will be charged in advance. Any additional charges for fuel or damage / extra cleans will be charged when the vehicle is returned.
What about fuel?
All SEAT Subscribe vehicles are delivered with a full tank of gas. If you return a vehicle without a full tank, we will refill the vehicle and add the charge (plus a $15 including GST admin fee) to your account. All SEAT Subscribe cars are petrol models and require 95 octane fuel – this is written on the inside of the fuel flap. Any vehicles found to have been filled with the incorrect fuel will incur all costs to rectify.
Can I bring the car back early?
Yes, however as you would have paid for the period in advance, the normal full rate for the period will still apply.
Can I bring the car back outside of the SEAT Store’s opening hours?
Unfortunately, this is not possible at present.
Is there a mileage limit per month?
Yes, for a week subscription the limit is 1,000kms. For the month-long subscriptions, the limit is 2,000kms. An excess KMs charge (variable by model) will apply for each kilometre above this. There is no limit for weekend subscriptions.
Can anyone else drive the vehicle?
Yes, you can add one additional eligible driver to your agreement. Their driver’s licence is also needed at the time of vehicle collection.
Am I responsible for the SEAT Subscribe vehicle?
Yes, we expect our subscribers to take care of SEAT Subscribe vehicles as if they owned them. Please drive responsibly, keep your vehicle clean and let us know of any minor dings or spills. Any damage or excessive wear (i.e. tyres) will be charged upon return of the vehicle.
How do I pay infringement fees or tickets?
We do not pay infringement fees or tickets on behalf of the customer. You will need to pay it direct to the issuing authorities. We can provide advice how to pay if required.
NZ Police speed camera – An Infringement notice is sent to the owner of the vehicle (SEAT), then our Infringement Admin shall determine the subscriber who used the car to transfer liability. A notice shall be sent via email with payment instructions. Settlement will be the subscriber’s responsibility.
NZ Police (driver stopped by police) – The police will hand over infringement notice direct to the driver. It is the driver’s responsibility to comply and pay the infringement.
Parking Tickets – Tickets are placed on the windshield of the car. We only receive reminder letter if the subscriber fails to settle within 28 days.
Please note: An administrative fee of $35 including GST will be charged for unpaid infringement notices that we receive.
How do I pay tolls?
We manage toll payments and these are linked to your agreement. The payment will be taken using your credit card details on file.
What data does SEAT Subscribe collect?
What is the minimum age to subscribe to a vehicle?
The minimum age to get a SEAT Subscribe vehicle is 21 years. Those aged between 21 and 24 are limited to the type of vehicles that can be subscribed to (those with a new-car retail price of less than $50,000). The booking widget will let you know if you have chosen a vehicle you can not subscribe to. In general, no vehicles with a 2.0 litre engine or any Tarraco Xcellence models are available to those under 25.
What are the main terms and conditions of use I need to know?
- The subscriber will receive at least one copy of a rental agreement which must be kept in the vehicle during the subscription period and be produced on demand to an enforcement officer
- A fuel charge and admin fee will apply if the vehicle is not returned with a full tank
- Cleaning charges will apply if the vehicle is returned in an excessively dirty condition
- All extensions of the subscription term must be approved 24 hrs before the expiry of the term
- Any damage or theft to the vehicle must be reported to the owner immediately
- The subscriber is responsible for all road and traffic fines incurred
- Lost keys may incur a replacement charge
- The vehicle is fitted with a GPS tracker to enable collection of odometer data – plus vehicle location if non-payment occurs
